The Teenage Male and Poop

I spend a lot of time with teenagers. I serve as counselor, friend, mentor, dude that picks them up, guy that tells them to stop doing that and hopefully wise advisor. I’ve noticed many things in my time and this is one of the more fascinating:

Dudes love to talk and laugh about poop.

The above is audio I captured last night on my phone. It’s a kid in my group singing a short little song his little brother wrote about poop. It’s catchy. I’d love to hear a remix of it or one day hear a guy walking down the road jauntily singing it.

I also heard this little nuggets of poop related hilarity:

kid 1: Have you seen that new movie: Constipated

kid 2: No, never heard of it.

kid 1: That’s because it hasn’t come out yet!

Now, I will readily admit: I laughed.

I’ve read some complicated literature. I can appreciate and talk somewhat intelligently about art. I love abstract thinking, foreign cinema and delving into big ideas. I’m not a complete moron, but man do I still love fart jokes.

There I said it. Deep down, in some way, I’m still 14.

P.S. Another kid had an idea for a parody of the show “Family Matters” called “Fecal Matters”. Yup, I laughed at that too.
